New guidance has been published by CQC on use of CCTV in care homes - https://www.cqc.org.uk/guidance-providers/all-services/using-surveillance-your-care-service . The toolkit walks through the issues to think about when deciding whether to use cameras, and also links to CQC's earlier guidance on filming by relatives (https://www.cqc.org.uk/news/stories/using-hidden-cameras-monitor-care).
The Surveillance Camera Commissioner has also recently consolidated and re-launched his guidance materials into a toolkit: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/launch-of-the-online-toolbox . Whilst the SCC's statutory remit is largely limited to central and local government, his toolkit has a number of practical resources which are useful for private and NHS providers, housing associations and other private businesses.
Finally, the ICO's Code of Practice (https://ico.org.uk/media/1542/cctv-code-of-practice.pdf) and checklist (https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/resources-and-support/data-protection-self-assessment/cctv-checklist/) provide material specifically geared towards Data Protection legal compliance.
