The NHS Counter Fraud Authority have published their 2019/2020 business plan. NHS CFA will be aiming to detect £22 million of fraud, prevent £100 million of fraud, and recover £5 million from fraud. We expect they'll be using criminal, disciplinary/regulatory and civil recovery to achieve those aims The NHS CFA will be focussing on pharmaceutical contractor fraud, procurement and commissioning fraud, GP contractor fraud and improving fraud outcomes/increasing sanctions. "Spot it, report it, together we stop it."
By preventing fraud, by identifying it and tackling it effectively where it occurs, and by seeking to recover moneys lost to fraud we can ensure that precious NHS funds are used for their intended purpose of patient care."
