I'm delighted to see that London Mayor Sadiq Khan has moved quickly to appoint Tom Copley as his new Deputy Mayor for Housing and Residential Development following James Murray's resignation. Even more pleasing is the fact that the new deputy is a housing champion.

Tom has a formidable reputation campaigning for access to safe, affordable and secure housing for all Londoners, and has been a champion of increasing the rights of tenants in the private rented sector. He has also led on work in the London Assembly around increasing the building of council homes and advocating for resident ballots on estate regeneration schemes.
