Susie Rogers is a partner in the Real Estate team, and has been at Capsticks since 2000 acting exclusively for housing and healthcare clients. Susie specialises in asset management, property, governance and regulatory work for housing providers. She is an expert in leasehold work and right to buy transactions, often lecturing on key issues in these areas, e.g. the Voluntary Right to Buy. She regularly advises on HCA compliance and governance issues.
Susie leads our New Homes and Asset Management teams, managing a high volume of transactions dealing with the full remit of property advice for housing providers. This includes advice on new home sales (outright sales and shared ownership sales); management of existing shared ownership leases (resales and staircasing transactions); lease extensions; lease variations; conveyancing; charging; right to buy/right to acquire transactions; easements/wayleaves; service charges etc. All within the context of the regulation and funding of the housing sector. Susie has developed bespoke IT solutions for the teams, to ensure that they are able to manage transactions swiftly and without reinventing the wheel each time, working within very competitive fixed fees and providing regular update reports to clients.
Susie regularly advises on commercial property and construction work, including commercial leases, acquisition and disposal of development sites and general landlord and tenant law. Susie has acted on a number of PPP/PFI projects, from the planning stages through to practical completion and use of the premises.
Susie is an expert in public sector funding and powers, with an active interest in health and social care projects.
