Martin leads Capsticks Employment Law practice and has specialised in employment law in the health and social care sectors, at Capsticks since 1997. He became partner in 2002 and Head of Employment in April 2010. He now leads a team of over 40 employment lawyers across our London, Birmingham, Leeds and Winchester offices. As a member of Capsticks’ senior leadership team, Martin works to deliver the firm’s strategy, providing pragmatic legal solutions for organisations particularly in the health and social care, housing, emergency services and regulatory sectors.
Martin’s own areas of specialist expertise include advising on Board-level employment and engagement issues; workforce change; complex disputes such as in relation to discrimination and whistleblowing; and managing doctors under the national NHS framework, “Maintaining High Professional Standards”.
Martin also leads the Employment team's work on advising private sector healthcare providers and acts for a number of national social care providers in the charity sector.
Martin is “"impressive in all respects," according to clients all across the healthcare sector, with regular work for NHS trusts, private groups and third sector organisations” (Chambers and Legal Partners Directory 2015).
Martin “is described by one source as an adviser who gives "a very good service, and cares about what he does." (Chambers UK 2016).
